Samaa TV was established in 2007 and is owned by Jaag Broadcasting Systems (Pvt) Limited. Samaa TV claims that it resists sensationalism in presenting news to the public and focuses on presenting news based on facts. The company slogan is "Sansani Nahin, Sirf Khabrain" (No sensationalism, just news). Producer Athar Mateen was killed in a robbery in North Nazimabad Karachi on February 18, 2022.
